Welcome to the INODA "RampUp" Project Team page . Briefly, INODA (INdian Organization for Developmental Action)is a social service organization based in Thiruvanmiyur,Chennai and focuses on taking technology to the common man. The 'Ramp Up" project is focused to make key public buildings and facilities accessible to the disabled. This site hopes to be a nodal site for all information related to this project, and also an active collaboration tool for the volunteers .
If you are here for the first time, please go through the menu options on the side to get a background of where we are at this point.If you would like to get involved in the project, please do join the wiki and we would get in touch with you .
This site is built using various free, hosted platforms such as 'wetpaint', 'Google Docs' and 'Remember the Milk' . They provide a rich suite of collaboration tools such as web page creation, editing, task tracking , document sharing and communication between members of the community. The core wiki site is highly extensible using widgets - by which you can get advanced functionality in your site with zero coding ! Currently , some of these features are "viewing only" and can be turned on for the regular volunteers. Once people get comfortable with the site's features, we plan to open it up , so that eventually it can become a thriving community to address various issues surrounding the needs of the disabled .
We welcome your comments, suggestions and inputs . This site is constantly being updated with new inputs. So do drop by often to check how we are progressing .
